New Website!!!

Victoria Skimboards is pleased to announce that the new website is finally here.  The new site has been a labor of love but it is finally complete.  Check out the new features; video, contests, get to know, board specs, and much, much more.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Also, the blog will be getting a face lift as we make a change in formats.  This could be the last formal post on our Blogger blog but do not fear, we are not abandoning you.  Hopefully you will enjoy the new look and feel of our "revised" blog.

We cannot wait to hear from you on all of the new changes so drop us a line when you get a chance and let us know what you think.

For those who are not really familiar with this sport, skimboarding is done on a baseboard which looks a lot like a regular surfboard. The only difference here is that a skimboard is smaller that the surfboard because it is easier to glide on the water. This sport is often known as skimming where the skimmer stands on the board and slides on the surface of the water. Most ideally, the water needs to be shallow. You can find shallow water to skim when the surf is low and is closer to the sand. If you happen to look at someone skimboarding, you will find that the technique is similar to that of surfing. However, instead of battling the big waves, you're at a safe distance, on shallow waters. All you need to do is throw your board onto the water and quickly run and get on it to skim. Now that you have the basic knowledge of what skimboarding is, why don't we take a look at some skimboarding tips that will make you better at this sport. skimboards
